Sip Microfilm was established, a company at the forefront of dematerialisation and cataloguing of paper archives, such as libraries or land registers, transferring and archiving the contents on 16mm microfilm.
Giuliano Marone, a nuclear engineer who graduated from the Sapienza University in Rome, took over the management of the company and changed its name to Archiva srl.

Already an agid accredited registrar
Since 2014, Archiva, as an AgID - Agenzia per l'Italia Digitale - Accredited Conservator, has obtained the certificate from KIWA Cermet Italia in compliance with the requirements identified in Article 24 of Regulation (EU) 910/2014 eIDAS as defined in ACCREDIA's Accreditation Circular No. 5/2017.
Its process has been designed according to the Technical Rules on the storage of electronic documents and its organisation meets the requirements of quality, security, business continuity and organisation.
It should be noted that the certification is valid until 31/12/2021, due to the regulatory adjustments and provisions of Accredia. To date, no further or substitute certifications are envisaged.
